The details
When the grid goes quiet, you won't
The Ashgrove is a hand crank radio with AM, FM and the NOAA weather band, a 5,000+ mAh battery, a flashlight and a USB port for your phone. It is built for power cuts and storms, and it fits the car, a go-bag or a camping trip where the nearest outlet is miles away. Charge it at home, then keep it running with sunlight or a few turns of the crank.
Weather emergency radio, simple dial
- Three bands, one dial AM 520-1710 kHz, FM 87-108 MHz and the NOAA weather band from 162.400 to 162.550 MHz, so you hear local news and forecasts.
- Analog controls A volume knob, a tuning knob and a band switch. Easy to work by feel when the lights are out.
- Telescopic antenna Pull it up for a clearer signal when stations are faint.
Three ways to keep it running
- USB charging at home Plug into any 5 V USB charger so the battery is full and ready on the shelf before a storm.
- Fold-up solar panel Tilt it toward the sun to top up the battery during the day, with no outlet needed.
- Hand crank Turn the folding handle for power when there is no sun and no outlet.
- AAA backup A compartment underneath takes AAA batteries, giving you one more way to keep listening.
Hand crank radio and flashlight
- Built-in flashlight A focused center beam framed by two wide light panels, so you can find your way through a dark house.
- Reading light Softer light for a table, a tent or a hallway during an outage.
- SOS alarm A loud alarm to help draw attention to where you are.
- Phone charging The USB port shares the stored battery with your phone, using your own cable, to keep you reachable.
Small enough to always pack
At about 1 lb and roughly the size of a paperback, this portable emergency radio fits a kitchen drawer, a go-bag, a glove box or a camping tote. The gauge on the dial shows the battery from 25 to 100 percent, so you know where you stand at a glance, and the wrist strap keeps it in hand.

Before you buy
Does a hand crank radio work without batteries?
This one has a built-in rechargeable battery that the crank and solar panel charge, so you never depend on store-bought batteries. AAA batteries are an optional backup and are not included.
Can this emergency radio charge my phone?
Yes. The USB port shares power from the 5,000+ mAh battery with your phone through your own charging cable. A full radio battery gives a solid top-up, not unlimited charging.
What is the NOAA weather band?
WB covers 162.400 to 162.550 MHz, the frequencies NOAA Weather Radio uses across the US. Tune to the station for your area to hear forecasts and updates.
How do I charge it fastest?
Use a 5 V USB wall charger. The solar panel and hand crank add power when no outlet is available, but they work more slowly, so charge it fully at home before storing it.
Is it good for camping and hiking?
Yes. It weighs about 1 lb and combines a radio, flashlight and reading light in one unit. Keep it out of the rain, since it has no waterproof rating.
How long does delivery take?
We ship from Yiwu, China within 1–2 business days. Delivery takes 5–10 business days after that, so 6–12 business days in total. Shipping is free. US import duties, if any, are not included. Shipping policy
Can I return it?
Yes, within 14 days of delivery, unused and in its original packaging. Email us first; you pay the return postage to China, and we refund within 10 business days of receiving it. Returns policy
What if it arrives damaged or faulty?
Email support@kinetichike.com within 14 days of delivery with your order number and a photo. We send a replacement or refund you in full, at our cost.
