The Larkspur is a hand crank radio with DAB+ and FM, a 4500 mAh battery that charges your phone, and a built-in LED flashlight. It is made for power cuts, storms and nights off the grid: keep it in a kitchen drawer, the car or your go-bag, and charge it by USB-C, sunlight or hand crank whenever you need it.
Solar, crank or USB-C power
- USB-C at home plug in and it is fully charged in about 4–5 hours (maker's figure), ready to wait in a drawer or go-bag until you need it.
- Solar panel on top trickle-charges in direct sun, so a day on a windowsill or a pack strap keeps the battery topped up.
- Hand crank as the last resort one minute of cranking gives about 10 minutes of radio or 30 minutes of light (maker's figure). No outlet or sun needed.
A phone charger in your radio
- USB-A output, 5V connect your own charging cable and draw on the 4500 mAh battery when your phone runs low and the power is still out.
- Five-light battery gauge shows at a glance how much charge is left, so you can decide what to spend it on.
Emergency radio news, clearly
- DAB+ and FM clear digital stations where DAB+ is broadcast, plus FM from 87.5 to 108 MHz. The telescopic antenna helps pull in weaker signals.
- Bluetooth 5.3 speaker press MODE to switch to Bluetooth and play music or podcasts from your phone through the built-in speaker.
- 3.5 mm headphone jack listen privately in a tent, a shelter or a house where everyone else is asleep.

Before you buy
Does a hand crank radio work without power or batteries?
Yes. The built-in 4500 mAh battery runs it, and you can recharge that battery by USB-C, by the solar panel or by turning the crank. About one minute of cranking gives roughly 10 minutes of radio or 30 minutes of light (maker's figure).
Can this emergency radio charge my phone?
Yes. Plug your phone's own charging cable into the USB-A output on the side and the radio's 4500 mAh battery gives it a top-up. How much depends on your phone's battery size.
Will DAB+ work where I live?
DAB+ works wherever digital radio is broadcast, which covers most of Europe, the UK and Australia. In areas without DAB+ coverage, including most of the US, use the FM band.
How do I use the hand crank?
Fold out the handle on the back and turn it clockwise at a steady pace.
Can I use it as a Bluetooth speaker?
Yes. Press MODE to switch to Bluetooth, pair your phone over Bluetooth 5.3 and play music or podcasts through the built-in speaker.
How long does delivery take?
