The details
When the grid goes quiet, this keeps talking
The Tidewatch is a hand crank radio with a solar panel, AM, FM and shortwave reception, a four-LED flashlight and a 4,500 mAh battery that can top up your phone. It is built for the moments the power goes out: storms, blackouts, a night at camp or a long drive, and it fits in a go-bag, glovebox or kitchen drawer. When the outlet is gone, recharge it with sunlight or a few turns of the crank.
Solar and hand crank charging
- USB-C at home fills the 4,500 mAh battery from any 5V wall plug or power bank, so it waits in your kit ready to go.
- Solar panel on the end tops it up slowly in daylight on a windowsill, porch or dashboard, with no cables needed.
- Fold-out hand crank gives you power with your own hands when there is no sun and no outlet in reach.
AM, FM and shortwave reception
- Three radio bands bring in local AM and FM news across the 88-108 MHz US FM band, plus shortwave from 3 to 22 MHz for distant stations.
- Telescopic antenna pulls out for clearer reception and tucks back into its own slot when you pack up.
- Glowing LCD shows band, frequency and battery status, so you can tune in a dark room.
- Bluetooth speaker mode plays music or podcasts from your phone through the built-in speaker on quiet days.
Flashlight and SOS alarm
- Four-LED flashlight throws a bright beam from the front end, so you can find the fuse box, the trail or the tent zip.
- SOS button sets off an alarm with one press when you need to draw attention to where you are.
- Wrist strap keeps the radio on your hand while you walk, crank or search in the dark.
A phone charger for outages
- USB-A output sends up to 5V 2A to your phone, enough to send that message or check the map when the lights are out.
- Covered ports keep the USB, USB-C and headphone jack behind a rubber flap that blocks dust when not in use.

Before you buy
Does a hand crank radio work without batteries?
This one runs on its built-in rechargeable 4,500 mAh battery, so you never need disposable batteries. Charge it over USB-C, then use the solar panel and hand crank to add power when there is no outlet.
Can this emergency radio charge my phone?
Yes. Plug your phone's own cable into the USB-A port and it draws up to 5V 2A from the radio's battery. How much charge you get depends on your phone and how full the radio is.
Does it get NOAA weather alerts?
No. It has no NOAA weather band and no automatic alerts. You can follow storm and emergency news on local AM and FM stations, and listen further afield on shortwave.
What is the fastest way to charge it?
Use the USB-C port with a 5V wall plug or power bank. Solar and the crank are best as backups that top up the battery when you are off the grid.
Can I use it as a Bluetooth speaker?
Yes. Switch to BT mode and pair your phone to play music or podcasts through the built-in speaker. There is also a headphone jack behind the side port cover.
How long does delivery take?
We ship from Yiwu, China within 1–2 business days. Delivery takes 5–10 business days after that, so 6–12 business days in total. Shipping is free. US import duties, if any, are not included. Shipping policy
Can I return it?
Yes, within 14 days of delivery, unused and in its original packaging. Email us first; you pay the return postage to China, and we refund within 10 business days of receiving it. Returns policy
What if it arrives damaged or faulty?
Email support@kinetichike.com within 14 days of delivery with your order number and a photo. We send a replacement or refund you in full, at our cost.
